Storing Diamonds

How to store diamond rings and diamond jewelry carefully

  • Avoid temperature and humidity extremes like very cold or very hot places.

  • Separate jewelry from one another with tissue or a velvet or cloth pouch to prevent scratching.  Diamonds can scratch one another if tossed in one pouch or jewelry box especially when traveling.

  • Make sure jewelry boxes are adequate in size for your diamond collection.  Overcrowding can lead to bending fragile pieces or chipping parts of a diamond or other precious stones.
